In this game, you’re given a pool of 16 words, and your goal is to sort them into four hidden categories based on how they relate to each other. The puzzle refreshes daily at midnight, and each one comes with its own level of difficulty. Like Wordle, you can track your streak and see how you stack up against friends.

Some days are tougher than others, so if you’re stuck on today’s Connections puzzle, we’ve got some tips to help you out. And if you still can’t crack it, the answers are at the bottom.

How to Play NYT Connections

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your task is to sort them into four groups of four, based on how they connect. These groups could be anything, like video game franchises, shades of red, types of restaurants, or even characters from movies.

You can shuffle the words around to help spot the links. While some words might seem like they fit in multiple groups, there’s only one correct way to organize them.

Each group you find will be color-coded. The easiest set is in yellow, then green, blue, and finally purple (the trickiest group). Select four words, hit “Submit,” and if you’re correct, those words will disappear from the grid, revealing their theme. If you’re wrong, it counts as a mistake, and you only get four mistakes before the game ends.

Hints for Today’s NYT Connections

If you’re having trouble, here are the four themes for today’s puzzle.
