In this game, you’re given 16 words and tasked with sorting them into four hidden groups by figuring out how they relate to each other. Like Wordle, the puzzle resets every night at midnight, and the difficulty can change day by day. You can track your progress, maintain streaks, and even compare scores with your friends.

How to play NYT Connections:

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to find the connections between them and sort them into four groups of four. The connections can be anything, from types of food, colors, TV shows, or even cities. Some words might seem like they could belong to more than one category, but only one solution is 100% correct. You can shuffle and rearrange the grid to help you spot the connections more easily.

Each group is color-coded based on difficulty:

Yellow: Easiest group to find

Green

Blue

Purple: Most difficult group

Once you think you’ve found a group of four connected words, hit “Submit.” If you’re right, those words disappear from the grid and their connection is revealed. If you guess wrong, it counts as a mistake, and you only get four mistakes before the game ends.

Hints for today’s NYT Connections:

Having trouble figuring out today’s puzzle?
