Strands<\/strong> is a fresh daily puzzle from the New York Times that puts a unique twist on the classic word search. It\u2019s more challenging and requires sharp attention to detail.<\/p>\n

How to Play Strands<\/h3>\n

In each Strands puzzle, your task is to find the \u201ctheme words\u201d hidden in a grid of letters. You can move letters around by dragging or tapping them to form words, and you double-tap the final letter to confirm your selection. When you correctly identify a theme word, those letters will turn blue and can no longer be used.<\/p>\n

But finding words outside the theme still has its perks! Every time you discover three non-theme words that are at least four letters long, you\u2019ll get a hint. This hint reveals the letters of one of the theme words, and your job is to unscramble them.<\/p>\n

In Strands, every letter in the grid is used to create the theme words, and there\u2019s no overlap\u2014each letter is used just once.<\/p>\n

A special feature in every puzzle is the \u201cspangram.\u201d This is a standout theme word that stretches across two opposite sides of the grid and usually helps identify the puzzle\u2019s theme. When you find the spangram, it\u2019ll be highlighted in yellow.<\/p>\n
