In a tweet, the Governor stated, \u201cI am declaring a state of emergency across New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley due to extremely rainfall we\u2019re seeing throughout the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I am declaring a State of Emergency across New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley due to the extreme rainfall we\u2019re seeing throughout the region. <\/p>\n<p>Please take steps to stay safe and remember to never attempt to travel on flooded roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Kathy Hochul (@GovKathyHochul) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovKathyHochul\/status\/1707760068861509792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 29, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Further ahead, Hochul also appealed to the people to take necessary measures to stay safe such as not travel on flooded roads.<\/p>\n<p>Until now, no deaths or critical injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>State of emergency was also declared in New Jersey\u2019s Hoboken, city just across the river Hudson.<\/p>\n<p>In NYC, Mayor Eric Adams told CBS, that there were 15 rescues from cars and three rescues from basement apartments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A state of emergency has been declared in New York City as strong storms bring flash flooding.
