Actors Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who shared the screen in \u2018Twins\u2019, had a reunion at the recently concluded 96th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. They took to the stage to present the award for Best Visual Effects to \u2018Godzilla Minus One\u2019 and Best Film Editing to the Christopher Nolan directorial \u2018Oppenheimer\u2019, reports \u2018Variety.\u2019 However, it was their jokes about \u2018Batman\u2019 that left the Oscars audience in splits.<\/p>\n
\u201cArnold and I are presenting tonight together for a very obvious reason,\u201d DeVito said. \u201cWe\u2019ve both tried to kill Batman,\u201d Schwarzenegger revealed to applause. DeVito played the Penguin in Tim Burton\u2019s \u2018Batman Returns\u2019, where he faced off against Michael Keaton\u2019s Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer\u2019s Catwoman. Schwarzenegger, meanwhile, faced off against George Clooney\u2019s Batman as the villainous Mr. Freeze in the critical flop \u2018Batman and Robin.\u2019<\/p>\n
As per \u2018Variety\u2019, at the Oscars, Schwarzenegger said that his villain was defeated after Batman \u201cused my one weakness against me,\u201d which was Mr. Freeze\u2019s love for his deceased wife. \u201cOh. He threw me out a window!\u201d DeVito said about his Penguin death. \u201cThere he is. He\u2019s right here. He\u2019s right there. Look.\u201d The camera then cuts to Micheal Keaton in the audience. Keaton was a presenter at the Oscars earlier in the night, taking the stage alongside his \u2018Beetlejuice\u2019 co-star Catherine O\u2019Hara.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have a lot of nerve to show your face around here\u201d, Schwarzenegger quipped to Keaton. It\u2019s been years since Schwarzenegger and DeVito played their comic book villains on the big screen, but it was only last year that Keaton popped back up as Batman.
