This movie will be distributed through Amazon Prime Video. Although Toei did not deny the report outright, they remained tight-lipped, stating, “There is nothing we can say” in response. Meanwhile, images surfacing from the set indicate that approximately 50 staff members are actively engaged in production activities within a city center. Allegedly, a source from the production has revealed the cast members, featuring Kaito Sakurai (portraying Aqua Hoshino), Asuka Saito (as Ai Hoshino), Nagisa Saito (playing Ruby Hoshino), Ano (as Mem-cho), Nanoka Hara (enacting Kana Arima), with roles for Nobuaki Kaneko, Mizuki Kayashima, Naenano, and Jun Kaname yet to be determined. Notably, the Oshi no Ko anime will be adapted into both a live-action TV series and a film. The TV series will primarily focus on Aqua, while the film will center on Ai. Both the movie and TV series are slated for release in 2025. Additional images from the production are available for viewing.

The announcement has sparked a mixed array of reactions across social media platforms. Many express apprehension about how Oshi no Ko’s unique elements will translate into the live-action experience. Given the series’ characters’ eccentric mannerisms, distinct hair colors, and eye designs, concerns arise about potential difficulties in capturing the essence of the franchise in a live-action format. Some worry that attempting to capitalize on the series through a live-action adaptation could potentially detract from its legacy. However, comparisons have been drawn to the success of Netflix’s Yu Yu Hakusho adaptation, which managed to retain its surreal details. Despite this, Oshi no Ko, with its more grounded approach to reality, presents a distinct challenge. Nonetheless, other live-action adaptations such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Sailor Moon, which also possess similar distinctive elements, have found success and secured spots on CBR’s 15 Best Live-Action Anime Adaptations list.

With both live-action titles slated for a 2025 release, the Oshi no Ko franchise appears set to maintain its momentum following the debut of Oshi no Ko Season 2 in 2024. The upcoming season has already released a teaser trailer and a visual. The anime itself is an adaptation of Aka Akasaka’s ongoing manga of the same name, with illustrations by Mengo Yokoyari, published in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump. International fans have access to the series on MANGA Plus, and the anime adaptation is handled by the studio Doga Kobo.

Moreover, HIDIVE currently streams Oshi no Ko Season 1, which is described as follows: “Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?” The series continues to celebrate events like Christmas through special holiday cards and video messages featuring characters like Akane Kurokawa and Kana Arima.

According to a recent report, the immensely popular Oshi no Ko anime series is set to expand into both a…

[68
6642
post-21555","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tv","tag-oshi-no-ko
["GET
