An unaccompanied 6-year-old boy flying for the first time to see his grandmother in Florida was put on wrong Spirit Airlines flight, the New York Post reported. The child was supposed to fly from Philadelphia International Airport to Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers on Thursday. However, the boy was \u201cincorrectly\u201d boarded on a flight to Orlando, which is four hours away from his intended destination.<\/p>\n
In an email statement, Spirit Airlines has issued an apology to the family. The email mentioned that the child is under care and supervision of Spirit Team Member, as soon as the error was detected. It added that they have also taken immediate steps to communicate with the family and reconnect them, as reported by CNN.<\/p>\n
The statement did not mention how such an error was made, but a spokesperson said that an internal investigation was underway.<\/p>\n
The child\u2019s grandmother Maria Ramos shared her ordeal with the Wink News, and said that she panicked when her grandson did not get off the plane in Fort Myers.<\/p>\n
