{"id":17795,"date":"2023-12-19T03:09:33","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T08:09:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usa.businessupturn.com\/?p=17795"},"modified":"2023-12-19T03:09:33","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T08:09:33","slug":"florida-man-pleads-guilty-of-threatening-to-kill-u-s-supreme-court-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/usa\/florida-man-pleads-guilty-of-threatening-to-kill-u-s-supreme-court-justice\/17795\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida man pleads guilty of threatening to kill U.S. Supreme Court justice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Florida man has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, federal prosecutors announced Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The man identified as Neal Brij Sidhwaney, 43, of Fernandina Beach, faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison after he admitted of transmitting an interstate threat to the justice, who is not named, as per the Department of Justice statement.<\/p>\n<p>The accused appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Monte Richardson on Friday, as per the U.S. court filings in Jacksonville, obtained by The Messenger.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors said Sidhwaney made a call from Florida to the U.S. Supreme Court Justice on July 31 and left an expletive-laden threatening voicemail.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ said that over the voicemail, the accused \u201cidentified himself by name and repeatedly threatened to kill a specific Supreme Court justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested two weeks after the phone call was made and will be sentenced at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Florida man has pleaded guilty to threatening to kill a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, federal prosecutors announced Monday.
