{"id":13917,"date":"2023-11-27T09:38:30","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T14:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usa.businessupturn.com\/?p=13917"},"modified":"2023-11-27T09:38:30","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T14:38:30","slug":"teachers-reach-a-tentative-agreement-with-portland-public-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.businessupturn.com\/usa\/teachers-reach-a-tentative-agreement-with-portland-public-schools\/13917\/","title":{"rendered":"Teachers reach a tentative agreement with Portland Public Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After more than three weeks out of the classroom, and a tumultuous back-and-forth between district and union bargaining teams, more than 40,000 Portland students will return to school on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Portland Association of Teachers and Portland Public Schools have finally reached a tentative agreement, that will essentially end the strike by teachers, which has kept the schools closed since November 1.<\/p>\n<p>According to PPS\u2019 letter sent to the families Sunday afternoon, union members are required to ratify their terms, and the school board will also be required to approve the full contract at their Tuesday meeting.
