Meta has officially launched a new standalone app called Forum and the internet is already comparing it to Reddit.<\/p>\n

The new app is built around Facebook Groups and focuses heavily on discussions, questions, communities, and long conversations instead of viral content and short videos. Soon after the announcement, Reddit stock fell sharply and was down nearly 4.7% during trading.<\/p>\n

The launch shows Meta is now pushing deeper into online community spaces where Reddit has remained one of the strongest platforms for years.<\/p>\n

Meta Forum app and Facebook Groups<\/h2>\n

Forum works as a separate app connected to Facebook Groups. Users can log in using their Facebook account and instantly access their existing groups, profiles, and activity.<\/p>\n

Meta says the app is designed for \u201cdeeper discussions\u201d and \u201creal answers.\u201d The overall experience feels very different from the normal Facebook feed. Instead of focusing on trending videos or viral posts, Forum mainly highlights ongoing conversations inside communities.<\/p>\n

Even though Forum is a separate app, groups will still continue to exist on Facebook. Posts and discussions shared through Forum will also appear inside Facebook Groups.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest features inside Forum is its AI powered Ask tab.<\/p>\n

Users can ask questions and the app will generate answers by collecting discussions and replies from different groups across the platform. Meta appears to be using artificial intelligence to turn community conversations into searchable answers.<\/p>\n

The app also includes an AI assistant for group admins. This feature is meant to help moderators manage communities, handle content moderation, and improve group organization.<\/p>\n

Meta has been aggressively expanding its AI features across platforms in recent months. Forum seems to be another major step in combining AI with social media communities.<\/p>\n

Reddit stock falls after Meta Forum launch<\/h2>\n

Investors quickly reacted to the news.<\/p>\n

Reddit stock dropped after Meta introduced Forum because many traders see the app as direct competition to Reddit\u2019s core business model. Reddit has long dominated internet discussions, niche communities, and forum style conversations.<\/p>\n
