In total, approximately 25% of member nations from FIFA (of their total: 211) are represented at this World Cup. Additionally, this new World Cup structure allows for increased accessibility for some smaller nation members to play in this World Cup; Curacao* is the smallest nation to have qualified (technically, since the last World Cup will be use\/recognize the smallest qualifying country), along with Cape Verde, Uzbekistan, and Jordan. This way, each of the new countries will have a chance to display their nation\u2019s passion for football.<\/p>\n
Economically, the tournament is projected to generate massive returns, with FIFA expecting $11 billion in revenue to be reinvested into global football development.<\/p>\n
However, concerns remain. Critics warn of potential mismatches in the group stage, such as heavyweight clashes against minnows like New Zealand or Curacao, which could reduce competitiveness. Player welfare is another issue, with a short recovery window before European leagues resume.<\/p>\n
