Hero Fiennes Tiffin has received worldwide acclaim for his role as a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie\u2019s highly stylized Prime Video series, which premiered on March 4th, 2026, with all eight episodes available at once. It quickly shot to the top of Prime Video\u2019s worldwide rankings over its debut weekend.<\/p>\n
As of this writing in early April 2026, the show has not yet been renewed by Amazon. However, Simon Maxwell (Executive Producer) has indicated that they are already well along in the early-stage preparation process for season 2. According to Maxwell, the creative team is fully committed to creating multiple seasons of the show, as it was designed to be a multi-season production. Ritchie and the core cast and crew plan to continue to explore the friendship between Holmes and Moriarty (D\u00f3nal Finn) during their adolescence prior to their legendary rivalry.<\/p>\n
The first season was ordered back in May of 2024, shot throughout early 2025, and released 14 months later. If Prime Video is able to approve season 2 within the next few weeks (which is anticipated due to the success of season 1), production may commence again in late 2026. This would put the premiere date similar to the production timeline of the first season, likely toward the end of 2027 or the beginning of 2028.<\/p>\n
Fans are extremely excited to see Tiffin reprise his role as the dynamic and action-oriented Sherlock Holmes.
