Who was Jason Hughes?<\/h2>\n

Jason Hughes was a 40-year-old math teacher and coach at North Hall High School in Gainesville, Georgia<\/strong>. Known among students and colleagues as a supportive mentor, Hughes had spent years helping students both academically and through sports programs.<\/p>\n

In addition to teaching mathematics, he served as the school\u2019s golf coach and also helped with other athletic programs<\/strong>, making him a familiar and respected figure on campus. Many students described him as someone who encouraged them and attended school events simply to support them.<\/p>\n

Hughes was also a devoted family man<\/strong>. He is survived by his wife, Laura, who is also a teacher at the same school, and their two children.<\/p>\n

School officials remembered him as a passionate educator who cared deeply about his students and community. The district said he was a \u201cloving husband, devoted father, passionate teacher, mentor and coach.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The tragic incident happened late at night outside Hughes\u2019 home in Gainesville, Georgia. According to authorities, five teenagers went to his house and threw toilet paper on trees in his yard as part of a prank<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Around 11:40 p.m.<\/strong>, Hughes came outside to confront the group. As the teens attempted to leave the area in vehicles, Hughes reportedly tripped and fell into the roadway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An 18-year-old driver, identified as Jayden Ryan Wallace<\/strong>, drove away in a pickup truck and accidentally ran over Hughes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the driver and others in the group stopped to try to help until emergency responders arrived. Hughes was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center<\/strong>, where he later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

Teens arrested after the incident<\/h2>\n

Police arrested all five teenagers involved in the prank.<\/p>\n
