It first looked like the New York Mets were going to stay quiet this offseason. Not many big rumors. Not much noise.<\/p>\n

Then everything changed.<\/p>\n

The Mets suddenly made a surprise move. They agreed to a three year deal worth 126 million dollars with infielder Bo Bichette<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

The interesting part is that the Philadelphia Phillies believed they were close to signing him. That made the move even more shocking.<\/p>\n

This happened right after the Mets failed to sign Kyle Tucker<\/span><\/span>. They missed out on him. But instead of slowing down, they quickly shifted plans.<\/p>\n

Then they made another strong move.<\/p>\n

The Mets traded for center fielder Luis Robert Jr.<\/span><\/span> from the Chicago White Sox<\/span><\/span>. That trade gave them more power in the lineup. It also added strong defense in the outfield.<\/p>\n

Now Robert joins Juan Soto<\/span><\/span>. That gives New York another serious bat in the middle of the order.<\/p>\n

Last season did not go well for the Mets. They missed the postseason. Expectations were high. Results were not.<\/p>\n

Because of that, the front office is clearly not sitting back. They are being aggressive.<\/p>\n

Some believe they are not done yet.<\/p>\n

There is talk that the Mets could explore a trade for veteran outfielder Byron Buxton<\/span><\/span>. He would add even more power and experience.<\/p>\n

The team is also trying to replace the production of Pete Alonso<\/span><\/span>. His bat was a big part of their offense. Losing that kind of power is not easy.<\/p>\n

If Buxton becomes available, it would not be surprising to see the Mets make a serious push. They have already shown they are willing to spend and trade to improve.<\/p>\n
