Climate activist Greta Thunberg was briefly interrupted Sunday by a man who approached her on stage after she allowed a Palestinian and Afghan woman to speak at a climate protest in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n
Thunberg was speaking to the crowd of tens of thousands when she invited that woman on stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity,\u201d stated Thunberg.<\/p>\n
Post the speech delivered by the Palestinian and Afghan woman, Thunberg resumed her speech, and that\u2019s when a man climbed on the stage, grabbed her microphone and said, \u201cI have come here for a climate demonstration, not a political view.\u201d<\/p>\n
As the crowd booed at the man, others intervened to get him off the stage. Thunberg responded \u201ccalm down\u201d and later chanted, \u201cNo climate justice on occupied land.\u201d<\/p>\n
While the man\u2019s identity was not identified immediately, he was wearing a jacket with the name of a group called \u2018Water Natuurlijk\u2019 that has elected members in the Dutch water boards.<\/p>\n
