Konami has quietly removed Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD from the Xbox Store. The 2011 HD version is no longer available to purchase. It was previously playable on Xbox 360 and newer consoles through backward compatibility. Now it has disappeared from both the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.<\/p>\n

Peace Walker first launched in 2010 as a PSP exclusive. It later joined the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. For many fans, this was the best way to experience the game on console.<\/p>\n

The removal comes as Konami prepares to re release the title once again.<\/p>\n

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2 release<\/h2>\n

During a recent State of Play event, Konami officially announced Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2. This bundle will bring Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots to modern platforms for the first time. It will also include Peace Walker.<\/p>\n

Master Collection Volume 2 is set to release on August 27, 2026. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.<\/p>\n

Delisting older versions is a common move in the gaming industry. Publishers often remove original editions to push players toward newer releases. Still, some fans prefer having access to the original versions. For them, this news is disappointing.<\/p>\n

Metal Gear Solid 4 and missing online mode<\/h2>\n

One of the biggest highlights of Volume 2 is Metal Gear Solid 4. The game has been locked to PlayStation 3 since 2008. Many believed the complex PS3 code made it difficult to port.<\/p>\n

However, there is one major downside. The Master Collection version will not include Metal Gear Online. The original release featured a 16 player multiplayer mode with several game types. Konami has confirmed that this online component will not return.<\/p>\n

This has made some players cautious. Master Collection Volume 1 launched with technical issues and performance problems. Although updates improved it over time, fans are watching Volume 2 carefully.<\/p>\n

Konami has also released a fresh update for Master Collection Volume 1. The patch added new texture packs, improved resolution settings, Nintendo Switch 2 support, and bug fixes.<\/p>\n

Even after more than a decade without a brand new mainline entry, the Metal Gear Solid series remains active.
