The Seattle Seahawks did not always win a lot. They joined the NFL in 1976. For many years, success was rare. Things changed in the 21st century. Since then, Seattle has been one of the strongest teams in football.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks have reached the Super Bowl 3 times. Defense has always been their identity. In the 2010s, they built a unit that scared the league. Fans called it the Legion of Boom. That group helped bring the franchise its first championship. It also led to another heartbreaking Super Bowl loss.<\/p>\n

Seattle has not won it all in more than 10 years. Still, they never disappeared. They kept fighting. They kept making the playoffs. Since their last title, they have reached the postseason 8 times. The NFC has never been easy against them.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks last won the Super Bowl after the 2013 season. The game was played on February 2, 2014. Pete Carroll was the head coach. His defense completely crushed the Denver Broncos. That game was Super Bowl XLVIII.<\/p>\n

That 2013 season felt special from the start. Seattle went 13 and 3. They finished first in the NFC West. They earned the top seed in the conference. No team wanted to play them. Especially not in Seattle.<\/p>\n

Their defense was unreal. They allowed the fewest yards per game in the NFL. Not even close. The offense was strong too. Russell Wilson was young but calm. He threw for 3,357 yards. He had 26 touchdowns. Only 9 interceptions. Marshawn Lynch powered the run game. Together, they were hard to stop.<\/p>\n

In the playoffs, Seattle beat the Saints first. The score was 23 to 15. Then came the 49ers. Another tough game. Seattle won 23 to 17. That NFC Championship is still remembered today. Richard Sherman tipped the final pass. Then he delivered a loud postgame interview that became legendary.<\/p>\n

All that energy carried into the Super Bowl. From the opening snap, Seattle dominated. They led 22 to 0 by halftime. There was a safety. Two field goals. A Marshawn Lynch touchdown. Malcolm Smith returned an interception 69 yards for a score.<\/p>\n

Denver had no answers. Peyton Manning looked lost. The Seahawks kept coming. Percy Harvin returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown. Wilson threw 2 more touchdown passes. The final score was 43 to 8. It was a blowout.<\/p>\n

Malcolm Smith won Super Bowl MVP. He had 10 tackles. A fumble recovery. And that huge pick six. On a night ruled by defense, it made perfect sense.<\/p>\n

Seattle returned to the Super Bowl the very next season. This time, they faced the Patriots. The game was close. Painfully close. It ended with an interception at the goal line. New England won 28 to 24. Seahawks fans still remember that moment.<\/p>\n

The quarterback during that championship run was Russell Wilson. It was only his second NFL season. He was just 25 years old. He became the youngest face of the franchise at the time.<\/p>\n

Wilson was drafted in the third round in 2012. Nobody expected him to be that good so fast. He could run. He could throw deep. He stayed calm under pressure. Pete Carroll trusted him completely.<\/p>\n

Wilson became the best quarterback in Seahawks history. He stayed with the team for 10 seasons. He led them to another Super Bowl. He made 5 more playoff runs.<\/p>\n

Later in his career, Wilson moved around the league. He was traded to Denver in 2022. He played there for 2 seasons. In 2024, he joined the Steelers. In 2025, he played for the Giants mostly as a backup.<\/p>\n
