LeAnn Rimes recently shared a look at her health routine while taking a break from filming her show 9-1-1: Nashville. She posted a video on Instagram on January 15 to show her followers a medical procedure she calls a tune up. She visited a clinic in Nashville to undergo something called Therapeutic Plasma Exchange. This process involves removing the liquid part of the blood to get rid of toxins and harmful proteins.<\/p>\n
During the video Rimes showed her blood being drawn through a large needle in her arm. She explained that the procedure is like an oil change for the human body. It takes out the old plasma which she jokingly called sludge and replaces it with fresh albumin. She even held up a bag of the removed fluid to show off the particles and waste that her body was getting rid of.<\/p>\n
In addition to the plasma swap she also received a boost of stem cells. This part of the treatment left her with a bit of a headache which she had been warned might happen. She told her fans that she might have some flu symptoms but she was ready to just ride it out. The singer said she puts a lot of pressure on her body between acting and performing on stage.<\/p>\n
Rimes was very clear that she wanted to be open about her healing journey to help start conversations. She knows that not everyone has access to these kinds of expensive treatments. She spoke with humility and said she was only sharing what works for her personally. She is not trying to tell others what to do but simply wants to be honest about her life.<\/p>\n
The star has a history of being very open with her fans about her physical health. She has talked about her struggle with psoriasis and even shared a funny story about her dental bridge falling out during a concert. She also recently had to shut down rumors about plastic surgery for her latest TV role. She seems to value being authentic and transparent with her audience.<\/p>\n
