I\u2019d be honoured to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor also grieved Perry\u2019s death. He shared that he is \u201cdevastated\u201d by his \u201917 Again\u2019 co-star\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was a mentor to me, and we made a really cool film together,\u201d he said. Efron added that he looked up to the late actor and also learned comedic timing from him.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2009 film, Efron plays the younger version of Perry\u2019s character, Mike O\u2019Donnell.<\/p>\n<p>Perry\u2019s friend Athenna Crosby, who was one of the last people seen with him before he died on October 28, said that \u201che wanted Zac Efron to play him as a younger version and that he was gonna ask him soon to do that,\u201d she told Entertainment Tonight, earlier this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zac Efron would \u201cbe honoured\u201d to play the late actor Matthew Perry on the big screen.
