If Bellinger stays, Bichette becomes irrelevant. Bichette would only come into play if Bellinger signs elsewhere, which Kirschner does not expect to happen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"709\">He believes the Yankees and Bellinger will eventually agree on a new deal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"830\">Kirschner also said the Yankees\u2019 interest in Bichette is very loose. They have checked in, but that does not mean much.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"974\">General managers check in on almost every available player. It is part of the job. Asking questions does not mean serious talks are happening.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1103\">Right now, everything points back to Bellinger being the main focus. That approach makes sense for this version of the Yankees.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1105\" data-end=\"1204\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Still, it feels different from the past.
