Pakistan and Bangladesh have recently had important talks about defence. Leaders from both countries met in Islamabad to discuss working more closely together. One big topic was the possibility of Bangladesh buying JF-17 Thunder fighter jets from Pakistan. These jets were developed by Pakistan and China and are used for many combat roles. Bangladesh has shown interest in them and there were detailed discussions about this potential deal.<\/p>\n
The air force chiefs from both sides spoke about more than just the jets. They talked about helping Bangladesh build its military skills, training pilots, and working together on future aerospace projects. Pakistan also offered to speed up delivery of smaller training aircraft and provide long-term support, including ongoing training and technical help.<\/p>\n
This conversation on JF-17 jets comes at a time when the ties between Islamabad and Dhaka have been improving. Relations between the two countries have warmed recently after years of cooler cooperation. One sign of that warming is the plan for Bangladesh\u2019s national airline to restart direct flights to Pakistan later this month, something that had not happened for over a decade.<\/p>\n
So right now there is no final deal yet, but both sides are exploring the idea seriously. Bangladesh seems interested but has not confirmed any purchase.
