President Donald Trump recently explained his strategy for a military operation in Venezuela during a television interview. He made it clear that he views this situation differently than the war in Iraq from years ago. His main point was that the United States did not keep the oil in Iraq but this time he plans to do exactly that.<\/span> He believes that taking control of the oil is a necessary part of the mission to help both countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president mentioned that he has wanted to take this approach for a long time. He recalled suggesting back in 2016 that the government should have kept the oil in past conflicts.<\/span> Now he intends to have American oil companies go into Venezuela to fix their crumbling facilities.<\/span> He expects these businesses to spend a lot of money to get the industry working again.<\/span> Afterward they would be paid back through the money made from selling the oil.<\/p>\n
