US stocks ended Friday slightly lower. Losses across several sectors weighed on the market.<\/p>\n

The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.04%. The S&P 500 fell 0.03%. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.09%. It was a quiet but negative finish.<\/p>\n

On the Dow, Nike was one of the bright spots. The stock rose 1.52% and closed at 60.91. UnitedHealth gained 1.30% to finish at 331.83. 3M also moved higher, up 1.09% to 162.08.<\/p>\n

Some big names moved lower. McDonald\u2019s fell 0.85% to 310.68. Disney dropped 0.80% to 113.56. Boeing slipped 0.79% to 216.44.<\/p>\n

The S&P 500 had a mix of winners and losers. Target stood out with a strong gain. Its shares jumped 3.13% to 99.55. Freeport McMoRan climbed 2.18% to 53.05 and hit a 52 week high. Deckers Outdoor rose 2.12% to 103.09.<\/p>\n

On the downside, Moderna dropped sharply. The stock fell 4.70% to 31.21. Palantir lost 2.81% to 188.71. Brown Forman slid 2.66% to 26.18.<\/p>\n

The Nasdaq saw some extreme moves. A SPAC III Acquisition surged nearly 79% and reached an all time high. Picocela jumped more than 74%. Davis Commodities rose over 67%.<\/p>\n

At the same time, several stocks collapsed. Vivakor plunged almost 65% to an all time low. Aptevo Therapeutics dropped nearly 35%. Greenland Acquisition fell more than 25%, also hitting a record low.<\/p>\n

Market breadth was mixed. On the NYSE, advancing stocks slightly outnumbered decliners. On the Nasdaq, more stocks fell than rose.<\/p>\n

Volatility ticked up. The VIX rose almost 1% and ended at 13.60.<\/p>\n

In commodities, gold moved higher. February gold futures rose 1.36% to $4,563.95. Oil prices fell again. US crude dropped 2.37% to $56.97. Brent crude fell 2.15% to $60.90.<\/p>\n

In currency markets, the euro was mostly flat against the dollar at 1.18. The dollar strengthened against the yen, rising to 156.58. The US Dollar Index edged slightly higher to 97.71.<\/p>\n
