In his speech on Monday, William explained that his wife could not be with him due to a rather important family reason: Prince George\u2019s schooling.<\/p>\n
\u201cCatherine is very sorry she can\u2019t be here,\u201d said the Prince of Wales, 41. \u201cShe is helping George through his first set of major exams.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was earlier confirmed by Kensington Palace that Prince William will be traveling to Singapore solo due to his son\u2019s exams. This marks that first time that Princess Kate will miss Earthshot Prize awards ceremony, which she has attended for the last two years \u2013 in London for the inaugural event and later in Boston in 2022.<\/p>\n
The Earthshot Prize was introduced by Prince William in 2020, with an intention to promote impactful approaches to the planet\u2019s most pressing environmental challenges. He plans on to continue awarding the prize until 2030.<\/p>\n
The royal couple had last visited Singapore eleven years ago. He mentioned in his Monday speech, that the trip had been \u201ca memorable\u201d one.
