Fans are still waiting to hear if there will be a season 2 of the crime drama series MobLand.
Season 1 was a big success on the streaming platform Paramount+. It was watched by so many people on the very first day that it actually broke viewing records. That’s how popular the show has become.
Right now, there’s no official news about season 2. But many people are hoping an announcement will come soon. The story, created by Ronan Bennett and Guy Ritchie, still has lots of exciting directions it could take, so there’s room for more episodes.
The show stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, which helped draw a lot of attention. The cast also includes well-known actors like Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, and Mandeep Dhillon.
Now the big question is: will all these stars come back for another season?

Will there be a MobLand season 2?
Right now, we still don’t know for sure if MobLand will return for a second season. There has been no official announcement yet. But this is not something to worry about. Season 1 just finished, and it’s normal for streaming platforms to take a little time before making a final decision.
The good news is, there are strong signs that a second season will happen.
When MobLand was released, it broke records on Paramount+. On its first day, 2.2 million people watched it from around the world. That made it the most-watched premiere in the streamer’s history.
Two other popular shows on Paramount+, 1923 and Landman, also had huge success when they launched. Both of those shows were renewed for second seasons, so it’s likely that MobLand will follow the same path.
Tom Hardy, who plays the main character Harry, has also said that he wants to return. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said that coming back for season 2 is “definitely the plan.” He even shared that the next season might take the story to an international level, focusing on how organised crime connects across countries.
Hardy explained that season 1 already touches on global crime networks involving drugs, weapons, and human trafficking, moving through Europe, Africa, South America, and Pakistan. He said there are crime families in every country trying to control this dangerous trade, and who’s really in charge, and how they’re stopped, could be explored more in the future.
Producer David Glasser gave fans more hope back in March when he told Deadline that MobLand “will have” a second season, and that the whole cast and crew are expected to return.
Then, in June, actress Joanne Froggatt, who plays Jan (Harry’s wife), said in an interview with ScreenRant that they are “very hopeful” the story will continue.
Pierce Brosnan also shared his excitement in an interview with MovieWeb. He said:
“I think the whole world is waiting to see the second season, and I believe they will be going ahead with a second season. As far as I know, it hasn’t been officially announced as yet, but people would love to see it. I had the greatest time working with this great company of actors. Yeah, it’s been a resounding success.”
The only bit of doubt came in May, when The Sun claimed the show might be cancelled. But this was not confirmed by anyone involved, so it’s best not to take it seriously.
There’s also a lot more story left to tell. Season 1 ended with a shocking twist: Harry (played by Hardy) gets stabbed by his wife, Jan. Thankfully, writer Jez Butterworth has already confirmed that Harry survives, so if the show comes back, we’ll see him again. And of course, that makes things very intense and awkward between Harry and Jan moving forward.
For now, fans will have to wait a little longer. But with so many positive signs, it seems likely that season 2 is coming.
