Since its debut with “Kingsman: The Secret Service” in 2015, the spy action series has successfully navigated through its sophomore film, “The Golden Circle” (2017), and now seems poised for another exciting chapter. By all indications, a third installment of the Kingsman franchise is indeed in development. Key figures such as screenwriters, directors, and stars have confirmed the project. In October 2023, Matthew Vaughn, the director of the first two Kingsman movies, stated that the new film is well underway, revealing the working title as “Kingsman: The Blue Blood.”
Originally slated for filming in 2021, the production was delayed due to the pandemic, with filming now expected to commence in 2024. As of January 2024, Vaughn provided insights into the screenwriting process, mentioning that acts one and three of “The Blue Blood” are in progress, while act two is still being developed.
“The Blue Blood” is set to conclude a Kingsman trilogy within a specific timeline, marking the end of Colin Firth and Taron Egerton’s characters, Harry Hart and ‘Eggsy’ Unwin, respectively. However, fans need not worry, as Vaughn has plans for a follow-up to the Kingsman prequel, “The King’s Man,” tentatively titled “The Traitor King.” This spinoff explores the rise of Adolf Hitler, and Vaughn has confirmed that the script is already completed.
As for the cast of Kingsman 3, Taron Egerton is expected to reprise his role, as he expressed commitment to doing three Kingsman movies in March 2023. Vaughn has reportedly considered Dwayne Johnson for the main villain role in Kingsman 3, though specific details about the character and the film’s plot remain undisclosed. As of January 2024, there is no official trailer or release date provided for “Kingsman: The Blue Blood.”
