Halle Berry has officially shut down rumors about her reprising her role as Storm in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Despite speculation, especially with several of her X-Men co-stars returning to the fold, Berry has made it clear that Storm won’t be making a comeback.

The buzz started when Marvel Studios revealed the cast for Avengers: Doomsday, with iconic characters like Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Cyclops (James Marsden), and Beast (Kelsey Grammer) all set to return. Though Marvel hinted that more names could be announced later, Berry quickly put the rumors to rest.

In an interview with Black Girl Nerds, she stated, “Keep waiting. It’s not going to be there,” putting to bed any hope that fans had of seeing her back in Storm’s cape. This has been a letdown for those who had hoped to see her wield Storm’s iconic powers again.

Halle Berry originally brought Storm to life in the 2000 X-Men film and continued playing her through X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). While other actors like Stewart and Grammer have reprised their roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Berry has decided to step away from her role as Storm.

With Avengers: Doomsday set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, fans will need to accept that while many familiar faces are returning, Storm won’t be among them.
