Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is expected to appear in Marvel’s upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. The actor teased fans with an Instagram post showing the Avengers logo with an “A” sprayed over it. Although there was no caption, fans are speculating that Reynolds may reprise his role as the wisecracking superhero, potentially joining the rest of the Avengers in the battle against Dr. Doom. Rumors also suggest that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine could appear alongside Deadpool, adding another fan-favorite X-Men character to the mix. The film has been in production for several months under the direction of the Russo Brothers.

Avengers: Doomsday promises a massive ensemble cast. While the main roster was announced months ago, many additional superheroes are being kept under wraps to preserve surprises. Reports indicate that Deadpool and Wolverine will join not only the original Avengers but also the new Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Reynolds and Jackman previously made their Marvel debuts in 2024, in a film that was commercially successful for the studios. Off-screen, the two actors are close friends, which adds excitement for their potential on-screen reunion. Fans are eagerly anticipating further reveals, including a second wave of character announcements.

The film will also mark the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the Marvel franchise, though not as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Instead, he will portray the villainous Dr. Victor von Doom. The ensemble cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a December 2026 release, with Avengers: Secret Wars planned to follow in 2027.
