Billie Eilish fans, brace yourselves, because a new era of music is about to dawn. The Grammy-winning artist has officially announced her third album, titled “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” set to be released on May 17. But there’s a twist: Eilish is shaking things up by opting out of releasing any singles beforehand.

In an Instagram post, Eilish expressed her excitement about the upcoming album, stating that she and her brother Finneas couldn’t be prouder of the project. Rather than drip-feeding fans with singles, Eilish wants to deliver the entire album all at once.

But the surprises don’t end there. Eilish is also making eco-conscious choices with the release of “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” Following her criticism of wasteful vinyl variants, she’s committed to going green this time around. Limited physical copies of the album will be released on the same day, all featuring identical track listings. Just like her previous album “Happier Than Ever,” the vinyl for “Hit Me Hard and Soft” will be made from 100 percent recyclable material.

This announcement follows a tease on Instagram last week, where Eilish added fans to her close friends list, offering a sneak peek at the album’s title and artwork. The 22-year-old artist had hinted at new music during an appearance on The Cookout in September 2023, revealing that an album was in the works and nearing completion.

Eilish’s latest album news comes hot on the heels of her historic win at the Oscars, where she and Finneas became the youngest two-time Oscar winners for Best Original Song with their contribution to the Barbie soundtrack, “What Was I Made For?”

As fans eagerly await the arrival of “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” it’s clear that Billie Eilish is poised to make yet another splash in the music industry with her distinctive style and innovative approach.
