Wild weather has left at least 10 people dead in the eastern Australian states of Queensland and Victoria, officials said on Monday.
Three men of age 48, 59, and 69, were killed after a boat with 11 people on board capsized in rough weather in Moreton Bay off the south Queensland coast on Tuesday, as per the police. The other eight survivors were rushed to ambulance in stable conditions.
On an annual fishing trip, the men were aboard the 39 foot pleasure craft, as per the reports of The Courier Mail newspaper.
As per the police acting Chief Superintendent of Queensland, Andrew Pilotto, said those rescued were lucky to survive.
In another incident, a woman of age 59 was killed due to a falling tree in Queensland city of Gold Coast on Monday night. Another body of a 9-year-old girl was found in the neighbouring city of Brisbane, who had disappeared in flood stormwater drain.
Elsewhere, another two bodies of women, who were of age 46 and 40, were found in Mary River in the Queensland town of Gympie. They were among the three women who were swept through stormwater drain. The third woman, 46, managed to save herself.
