Halsey, the 29-year-old singer, recently took to Instagram to inform fans about a serious health scare that landed her in the hospital. In a post featuring a video of herself in a hospital bed with her fiancé, Avan Jogia, by her side, Halsey revealed that she had suffered a seizure. With her signature humor, she captioned the post: “Happy Late Bi Visibility Day. This year I’m celebrating by dying with a man by my side (for legal reasons that’s a joke).”
Concerned fans quickly responded, prompting Halsey to address the situation further on social media platform X. She assured her followers that she was home and recovering, confirming, “I had a seizure! Very scary! Don’t recommend it!” She explained that the seizure was linked to her chronic health issues.
Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, has been transparent about her ongoing health struggles. In June, she disclosed her diagnoses with lupus and a rare lymphoproliferative disorder, both of which require lifelong management. Additionally, the singer has battled endometriosis for years, which worsened after the birth of her son, Ender, in 2021.
Earlier this year, Halsey underwent another endometriosis surgery, humorously sharing that she was “back in diapers” due to the post-surgery recovery process. Despite her health challenges, Halsey has remained candid with her fans about how these conditions have affected her life and career, vowing to prioritize her happiness moving forward. “I am not gonna do anything that doesn’t make me happy anymore. I can’t spiritually afford it,” she stated, following her close brush with illness.
Fans continue to send their well wishes as Halsey focuses on her recovery and well-being.
