Jabrill Peppers, captain of the New England Patriots, was arrested over the weekend following a reported disturbance at a residence, leading to multiple serious charges, including assault, strangulation, and possession of a controlled substance. The 29-year-old safety was taken into custody early Saturday morning by Braintree police, who responded to a call about an altercation between two individuals.

According to a police statement, officers arrived at the scene and found evidence of a physical confrontation. One individual was treated at the location, though details regarding their condition have not been disclosed. In addition to the assault charges, Peppers faces accusations of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class “B” substance believed to be cocaine.
Peppers was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court, where he will address the charges against him. As of now, it is unclear whether Peppers has retained legal counsel. Attempts to reach him for comment were unsuccessful, as no contact number has been identified.
In a press call on Monday, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo addressed the incident, stating that the organization is in the process of gathering information regarding Peppers’ arrest. “We’re still in the fact-finding phase and will assess the situation accordingly,” Mayo remarked. He added that Peppers will continue to have access to the team facilities for the time being as the team navigates the implications of the incident.
Peppers, a former first-round draft pick, joined the Patriots in 2023 and quickly became a key figure in their defensive lineup. Known for his versatility on the field, he has played a crucial role in the Patriots’ strategies this season.
