My Hero Academia has been one of the best superhero anime since it began in 2016. Over the years, it gained huge popularity and critical acclaim. After eight seasons, the anime is finally coming to an end this year. The manga by Kohei Horikoshi ended in August 2024, but its ending left many fans disappointed. The good news is the anime still has the chance to give fans a more satisfying conclusion.

The manga ended after Deku defeated All For One and Tomura Shigaraki. Horikoshi fast-forwarded the story eight years and showed what happened after the final war. Many fans felt the ending was rushed. Important moments, like Deku becoming a teacher and his romance with Ochaco, didn’t get enough attention. Supporting characters also got very little focus, which disappointed many readers.

Later, the final manga volume included an extra epilogue chapter released in December 2024. This chapter added more scenes and answered some of the unanswered questions. It showed the lives of all the heroes, explained why Deku became a teacher, gave fans a Class 1-A reunion, updated the hero billboard chart, and confirmed Deku and Ochaco’s relationship. This additional chapter made the ending much more satisfying.

The anime now has the chance to expand on the epilogue even more. With three episodes left, the show can add extra scenes to give the final moments more depth. There are even rumors of a bonus or twelfth episode that will adapt the additional epilogue chapter from the manga. This could make Deku’s journey feel complete and emotional in a way the manga didn’t fully achieve.

The anime has consistently delivered high-quality episodes, with each one rated 9 or higher. Bones Film, the studio behind the adaptation, has done an excellent job so far. Fans can expect stunning animation, strong voice acting, and a heartfelt ending. Anime-only viewers may find the ending more rewarding than manga readers did.

Manga readers can also enjoy the anime adaptation and experience the conclusion in a richer way. With the final episodes and possible bonus content, the My Hero Academia anime is likely to give fans the ending they’ve been waiting for.
