James Gunn’s Superman is now available to stream digitally, just a month after hitting theaters. The David Corenswet-led superhero movie performed strongly at the box office, with fans praising both the story and the on-screen chemistry between the characters.

The early digital release surprised many, as it didn’t follow the usual 45–90 day theatrical window. Gunn explained to Screen Rant that the decision was “complicated” but mainly tied to the upcoming Peacemaker Season 2. He said he wanted everyone to have a chance to watch Superman before the new season drops, even if they hadn’t made it to theaters.

The movie’s timeline connects directly to the events of Peacemaker, which will feature characters like Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Maxwell Lord. Gunn also mentioned that the digital release includes deleted scenes and a director’s commentary with a special message for fans.

Alongside Corenswet as Superman, the film stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The official synopsis reads: “When Superman gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad, his actions are questioned, allowing tech billionaire Lex Luthor to get the Man of Steel out of the way for good. Will intrepid reporter Lois Lane and Superman’s four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help him before it’s too late?”

Superman is now available to stream on Prime Video.
