South Korean actress Hyeri has recently been in the spotlight, but not for a new drama or project. Instead, it’s her personal life that’s making headlines. A news report on July 1 claimed that she has been dating dancer Wootae for about a year. Since then, things have been tense online, especially as her agency, Sublime, gave a vague response, saying it was “difficult to confirm” the dating rumors. As fans and the public speculated, Hyeri decided to speak up — not through a press release, but directly to her fans.

On July 4, she reached out using the paid fan communication app Bubble. She shared that she hadn’t been able to sleep and said it was because she missed her fans so much. However, since the message came in at 7 AM, it caught at least one fan off guard. That person replied by saying they’d never seen a celebrity message fans so early in the morning and accused her of not caring about them.

Rather than getting defensive, Hyeri quickly apologized. She told fans she’d be more careful about when she sends messages, writing things like, “I am so sorry. I will make sure to check before sending!” and “I hope you know I am always thankful and sorry and love you all. I’ll do better! Thanks.” Her words were sincere and gentle, and many fans responded with support, telling her she didn’t need to feel bad or apologize to people who were being unnecessarily harsh.

There was another message Hyeri sent that really stood out to fans. In it, she wrote, “I’ve been attacked for a long time, so I’m honestly okay. But I am sad when I hear that you guys are hurt.” Some believe this was her way of talking about the difficult time she’s been going through — including the backlash after her breakup with fellow actor Ryu Jun Yeol and the more recent rumors involving Wootae.

On top of the relationship drama, she’s also faced online teasing, with some people making fun of the fact that both men she’s been linked to supposedly look alike — comments that many saw as petty and unnecessary. And since her agency hasn’t cleared anything up, fans were left confused and even more protective of her.

Even so, through all the mess, Hyeri’s loyal fans are trying to lift her spirits. They’ve been flooding her with kind messages, encouraging her to stay strong and not let the negativity get to her. For now, while she hasn’t directly confirmed anything, her quiet honesty and gentle words have shown that she’s trying to protect her fans just as much as they’re trying to protect her.
