Jonathan Bailey surprised fans on Saturday by announcing that he plans to take a break from acting. Known for his charm and talent, Bailey, who recently starred in Jurassic World: Rebirth with Scarlett Johansson, shared the news in an interview with GQ.
He explained that he wants to focus fully on his nonprofit, The Shameless Fund, which supports the LGBTQ+ community. “I’ve been working solidly for about three years now, which has been amazing and mind-blowing,” he said. “But with everything happening in the world right now, I’m going to stop acting for a bit next year and just focus on the Shameless Fund.”
Bailey also shared that he plans to oversee the organization’s staffing and operations, making sure the right people are in the right roles. He highlighted a striking statistic: out of every £100 raised in the U.K., only one penny goes to the LGBTQ+ community. He believes The Shameless Fund can help change that and provide real solutions.
Even with his acting hiatus, Bailey will still appear as Anthony Bridgerton in season 4 of Bridgerton. While the main storyline will follow Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie, Anthony’s brother’s romance with Kate Sharma will also play a key role. Season 4 is set to release on digital platforms in 2026.
