Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently in production, with Tom Holland returning as the beloved superhero for the fourth film. However, it seems Holland has decided to take a short break from filming. During this time, his stunt double is stepping in, particularly for scenes involving multiple villains.
Recently, Holland shared a behind-the-scenes clip on Instagram, showing him back on set and once again wearing the Spider-Man suit. He reflected on the moment, saying it felt different this time and was exciting because fans were allowed on set for day one. He added that he just wants to do his best and “hopefully get it right,” without feeling pressured.
The upcoming movie will feature a star-studded cast. Jon Bernthal will appear as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Zendaya reprises her role as MJ, Jacob Batalon is back as Ned Leeds, and Michael Mando will play Mac Gargan/Scorpion. Liza Colón-Zayas and Sadie Sink from Stranger Things are also part of the cast, though their characters have not been revealed yet.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to release on July 31, 2026, marking Holland’s fourth time as the web-slinger. Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing, and reports suggest the film will stay true to the comic book stories.
Beyond Spider-Man, Holland is also set to appear in The Odyssey, a Christopher Nolan fantasy-action adaptation of Homer’s classic epic. In that film, Matt Damon plays Odysseus, and Holland will portray his son, Telemachus.
