Dorothea Hurley, the wife of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, unfortunately missed the premiere of her husband’s latest documentary, “Thank You Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” due to contracting COVID-19. Her absence was deeply felt, as she had to isolate herself at home due to the severity of her illness, as confirmed by her representative in an exclusive statement to Page Six.
Despite her absence, there was relief in knowing that Hurley, a 61-year-old karate instructor, was on the road to recovery. According to reports, Bon Jovi, 62, expressed sadness over his wife’s absence from the premiere, highlighting the importance of her health above all else.
Bon Jovi’s own experience with COVID-19, having tested positive in 2021, gave him a profound understanding of the virus’s impact. In a previous interview with the Star Tribune in April 2022, he emphasized the fragility of life and the universality of the pandemic’s effects, regardless of age or nationality. He also noted that both he and his family had been vaccinated.
While Bon Jovi attended the premiere without his wife, speculation arose about her absence, with some linking it to recent controversial comments made by the singer. Despite any turmoil, Bon Jovi has openly acknowledged his imperfections in his 34-year marriage, recognizing past mistakes but also praising Hurley’s forgiveness, notably referencing his 1993 hit song, “Bed of Roses,” which alludes to his infidelity.
Their enduring marriage, which began in 1989, has weathered its share of challenges, yet Hurley’s forgiveness and their commitment to each other have remained steadfast. Together, they have raised a family of four children, Jesse, Jake, Romeo, and Stephanie, embodying resilience and love through the highs and lows of life in the spotlight.
