Ben Affleck, known for playing both Batman in the Justice League and Daredevil in the 2003 film, recently shared some interesting insights about his past role while promoting The Accountant 2. During an interview with The Punisher actor Jon Bernthal, Affleck was asked about a hypothetical fight between Daredevil and Punisher. Affleck, clearly respectful of Bernthal’s portrayal, said, “Well, his Punisher is good. I wouldn’t tangle with his Punisher,” indicating that he wouldn’t want to face Bernthal’s intense take on the character.
In the same interview, Affleck admitted that he hasn’t watched the Netflix Daredevil series, which stars Charlie Cox as the man without fear. However, he expressed admiration for the character and wished Cox all the best in his portrayal.
Ben Affleck’s Daredevil came in the early 2000s, where he played the blind vigilante alongside Jennifer Garner’s Elektra. While the film didn’t garner the same fan approval as later superhero offerings, it still has a nostalgic place for many. Meanwhile, Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil has since become iconic, winning over a new generation of fans. Jon Bernthal’s introduction as The Punisher in the Daredevil series’ second season was met with great acclaim, solidifying his place in the MCU as a fan-favorite.
In addition to his superhero roles, Affleck is currently promoting The Accountant 2, the sequel to his 2016 film The Accountant.
