The news of his death was confirmed by John Sloss, the founder and partner at Sloss Law, who had legally represented the actor, to Page Six. The cause of death has not yet been made public.

Katt, born in 1970, began his career at a young age, debuting as a child actor in a 1980 episode of Fantasy Island. His early career also saw him appearing in Underground Aces, V, and CHiPs. However, it was his later roles that earned him significant recognition, particularly his memorable performance in Dazed and Confused, a cult classic that still resonates with audiences today.

Katt also showcased his versatile talent in numerous other projects, including Boiler Room, Full Frontal, Boston Public, and A Time To Kill. In Full Frontal, he portrayed Adolf Hitler in a fictional play within the movie, which starred Julia Roberts, Blair Underwood, and David Duchovny, among others. Director Steven Soderbergh praised Katt’s fearlessness in his performance, describing him as “absolutely fearless” in an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2002.

In addition to his film work, Katt made a guest appearance in a 1996 episode of Friends. His impressive filmography also includes School of Rock, SubUrbia, Secondhand Lions, The Limey, and Insomnia, demonstrating his range as an actor across various genres.

On the personal front, Katt was married to Annie Morse in 1999, but the couple parted ways in 2001.
