Lucy Markovic, a 27-year-old model from Australia, has sadly passed away. The news was confirmed on Thursday, April 10, 2025, through a heartfelt message posted on her official Instagram page.
Lucy first came into the spotlight as a teenager when she competed in Season 9 of Australia’s Next Top Model, where she quickly gained attention for her poise and talent. Over the years, she built an impressive career, working with some of the biggest names in fashion, including Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Bulgari, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, and Victoria Beckham.
Her family shared the sad news with her followers, explaining that Lucy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her mother and grandmother. In their message, they expressed their deep grief and kindly asked for privacy as they mourned.
The post read:
“Dear friends and family, I regret to inform you that Lucy has passed. She was at peace. Me, her mother, and my mother were present with her. We ask you to please give us space in these hard times. May Lucy rest in peace.”
Lucy’s journey in modeling began when she was young, inspired by her older sister and her mother, both of whom played a big role in encouraging her to follow her dreams. In 2022, she made her high-fashion debut with Versace and was featured in a Kult Australia interview where she shared her passion for the fashion industry.
However, in recent years, Lucy stepped back from modeling while she focused on her health. In a candid post shared before her passing, she opened up about a serious medical condition she had been fighting for the past four years—an arteriovenous malformation in her brain. This rare condition caused seizures and, unfortunately, became life-threatening.
Her modeling agency, Elite Model Management, shared their condolences and reflected on the time they worked with her. They said, “Modeling was one of Lucy’s dreams, and we are deeply honored to have been part of that journey with her. She brought elegance, strength, and beauty to her work. But more than that, she brought herself—her warmth, her laughter, her light.”
Lucy’s talent, spirit, and courage touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and fans around the world.
