Jan Schwieterman, best known for his role as the villainous Kurt Bozwell in the 1997 Nickelodeon film Good Burger, has passed away at the age of 52. His family confirmed his death on social media, revealing that he passed away on February 28, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, after a battle with Stage 4 cancer. His condition was described as an “aggressive form” of the disease, and his funeral took place on March 4, 2025.

Born on September 30, 1972, in Indiana, Schwieterman began his acting career after moving to California. He made his debut television appearance in McKenna (1994) and went on to appear in shows like ER, Felicity, and Forever. However, his breakout role came in Good Burger, where he played Kurt Bozwell, the antagonist to Kenan Thompson’s Dexter and Kel Mitchell’s Ed. The film became a cult classic, and Schwieterman’s performance as the Mondo Burger manager remains memorable.

Schwieterman’s other film roles included Warlock III: The End of Innocence (1999), American Intellectuals (1999), and Fallen Arches (2000). His last big-screen appearance was in the 2007 film Along the Way, where he portrayed Michael Braga.

Schwieterman is survived by his parents, LeeRoy Schwieterman and Clara Reed, along with his siblings, nieces, and nephews. Following his death, his brother Chad Schwieterman shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, thanking friends and family for their support during this difficult time.

His passing is a loss to his fans, especially those who fondly remember his role in Good Burger.
