Spider Man has been missing from the big screen for some time. Now he is finally returning in Brand New Day. The movie is getting a lot of hype because so many characters are showing up. We already know that The Punisher, Scorpion and Tombstone are all part of the story. But one big mystery is still unsolved. No one knows which character Sadie Sink is playing. So here are the most likely characters she could play in Spider Man Brand New Day and Avengers Secret Wars.
One option is Gwen Stacy. People know her well because of Emma Stone’s version in The Amazing Spider Man films. Many fans always wondered why the MCU never introduced her. Now Peter’s life is a clean slate since everyone forgot who he is. That makes this the perfect moment for Marvel to bring Gwen into the story. It would also hit Peter emotionally since he knows Andrew Garfield’s Spider Man could not save his Gwen.
Another strong option is Black Cat. Fans have been waiting for her for years. Brand New Day is a perfect chance to finally introduce Felicia Hardy. In the comics, Peter and Black Cat had a messy and unhealthy relationship. Peter is broken after losing MJ and Ned. This could pull him into a similar kind of complicated bond with Felicia.
Sadie could also be Jean Grey. The MCU is slowly preparing for the arrival of the X Men. Hints have already been dropped in other projects. Sadie fits Jean Grey’s tone and style well. And we already know she will appear in Secret Wars. Since the mutants will be part of that movie, introducing Jean early through Spider Man Brand New Day makes sense.
Another guess is Spider Woman or Julia Carpenter. If Sadie plays Julia Carpenter, she would become the first true Spider Woman in the MCU. Yes, Sydney Sweeney played a version in Madame Web, but that movie is not really connected to Marvel’s plans. Julia also debuted in the original Secret Wars comics working with Spider Man and the Avengers. So this would line up smoothly with the future movies.
The last possibility is Mary Jane Watson. It is not the strongest theory, but fans are considering it because Sadie is a natural redhead. People think she might be an alternate version of MJ. The issue is that Marvel already has its own MJ, Michelle Jones. But since the story is moving toward Secret Wars and alternate realities, Marvel could easily bring a variant of Mary Jane into the plot.
