In a touching moment shared on Instagram on May 15, Gellar surprised Armstrong with the big question: “Will you be my chosen one?” The young actress was moved to tears, overwhelmed by the news that she’d landed such an iconic role. “This is so exciting, oh my God,” she said, clearly emotional.
Gellar couldn’t help but praise Armstrong, saying, “From the moment I saw Ryan’s audition, I knew there was only one girl I wanted by my side… Her emotional intelligence and talent at such a young age are truly a gift.”
At just 15 years old, Armstrong’s career already echoes Gellar’s early start—Sarah was only 18 when she first took on the role of Buffy. Despite her youth, Ryan has built an impressive resume. She started acting at age 7, with notable roles in shows and movies like Anne with an E, Black Widow, The Tomorrow War, and American Horror Story. She’s also recently joined the Star Wars world with a role in Disney+’s Skeleton Crew.
Outside of acting, Armstrong has modeled too, featuring in a Zara campaign and working with designer Georgina Curtis on The Green Dress project. She’s also played the daughter of Amanda Seyfried in The Art of Racing in the Rain and Zac Efron in Firestarter—performances that earned her praise from both stars.
In a 2024 teaser, Ryan hinted at an exciting mystery project involving Machine Gun Kelly and motion capture technology, sparking talk that she might be involved in a video game adaptation—maybe something related to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
