The bizarre case involving Roxanne Doucette took a dramatic turn when she called 911 for her husband, Paul Doucette, who had fallen ill after consuming soup she had prepared. Paul was initially unconscious but later recovered at the hospital. Concerns arose when their daughter discovered text messages on Roxanne’s phone from someone claiming to be soap opera star Thorsten Kaye, urging her to “get rid of your husband” and suggesting a life insurance payout.

Roxanne’s daughter shared her suspicions with the police, revealing the concerning texts and expressing concern about her father’s well-being. Roxanne defended herself, stating that the soup was merely spoiled, not intentionally poisoned, and called the situation a misunderstanding. Despite denying any harmful intentions, she admitted to wiring $4,000 to the person claiming to be Thorsten Kaye.

Facing attempted murder suspicions, police attempted to question Roxanne and access her electronic devices. However, she resisted arrest and allegedly assaulted several officers before being subdued. She was subsequently booked on charges of resisting arrest, assaulting, and beating a police officer, among other charges. Although Roxanne had not been charged with her husband’s murder at the time of the report, she was ordered to stay away from her daughter and husband and undergo a mental health evaluation.

Townsend, Massachusetts Police Chief James Sartell emphasized the complexity of the case and advised caution in forming conclusions. The investigation continued, and the details surrounding the case remained intricate and unclear.
