Timothée Chalamet decided to skip the 2025 Met Gala, leaving Kylie Jenner to shine solo on the red carpet. Why? Because the New York Knicks were deep in the playoffs—and for Timothée, nothing was going to make him miss that.
As a lifelong Knicks fan, he chose to stay home and watch Game 1 of the intense Knicks vs. Celtics series. The game was a thriller, with the Knicks pulling off a dramatic overtime win, 108–105. Timothée didn’t hold back his excitement on social media, posting things like “s\*\*\*\*ing myself, this game is insane” and “shaking What a win!”
Meanwhile, Kylie looked stunning and totally unfazed by his absence as she posed on the Met steps all alone.
Just a week before, the couple was seen cozy and kissing courtside at a Lakers game in L.A.—which ended in a Lakers loss. Maybe that made Timothée even more determined to cheer for his Knicks from afar.
Kylie, known as a Met Gala regular, showed up solo but glowing, giving no hint of any tension.
With the Knicks hosting upcoming games back in New York, fans are eager to see if Kylie and Timothée reunite courtside again. Their romance first sparked rumors in April 2023, confirmed quietly later that year. The pair made their public debut in September 2023 at Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in L.A., where they were seen getting close.
Since then, they’ve kept a mostly low profile, popping up together at the Golden Globes and that NBA playoff game earlier this year. Despite their very different worlds—Kylie in beauty and business, Timothée in acting and fashion—they’ve maintained a steady, intriguing relationship that keeps fans guessing and rooting for them.
