Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially moved on, both emotionally and personally, following the end of their high-profile rekindled romance.
Affleck recently stepped out at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 2, attending the event at Caesars Palace to promote The Accountant 2. Looking upbeat and confident, the actor sported darker hair and appeared to be in great spirits — a sign that he’s entering a new chapter in life.
It’s been about a year since the pair quietly ended their marriage, and Ben seems to be finding peace and stability. In an interview with GQ, he shared that he’s been sober for over five years, and insiders say he’s feeling more like himself now that the intense media attention around “Bennifer 2.0” has subsided.
“He’s focused on himself and his work, and he seems very happy,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that the actor feels far less “exposed” these days. In his chat with GQ, Affleck hinted that the breakup wasn’t messy or dramatic — just a case of two different personalities. While Ben is naturally private and low-key, Lopez thrives in the spotlight, something that likely contributed to their split.
He was reportedly never a fan of the celebrity buzz that came with their reunion, including the “Bennifer” nickname that fans loved but he found uncomfortable.
Despite their separation, there’s no bad blood. A source revealed that while Ben and Jen aren’t in regular contact, they’re on friendly terms and can reach out to one another if needed.
“They’re in a place where they know they can call or text at any time and be cordial,” the insider said.
Interestingly, their children — from previous relationships — still share a connection. Affleck co-parents Violet (19), Fin (16), and Samuel (13) with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez, meanwhile, is mom to 17-year-old twins Emme and Max with Marc Anthony. Even though the blended family dynamic has softened since the breakup, the love and respect haven’t disappeared.
“The blended family vibe has softened with distance, but there’s still lots of love,” another source shared, pointing to a more peaceful post-breakup environment for both stars.
