So what do we actually know about season 3 and when it might come out? Keep reading to get the latest details.

When can we expect Wednesday Season 3 to be released?

We don’t have a release date for season 3 yet. If the wait between seasons 1 and 2 is anything to go by, we might not see it until 2028.

The 2023 WGA strikes slowed down many productions. If there aren’t any similar delays this time, the wait could be a bit shorter.

In August 2025, reports said filming for season 3 is set to start in 2026. That makes a 2027 release seem possible.

Netflix confirmed season 3 back in July 2025, even before season 2 was out. Co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough said they want to make every season better than the last. He wants to dig deeper into the characters and expand the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.

His co-creator Miles Millar added that season 3 will show more Addams Family members and uncover more family secrets.

How many episodes will there be in Wednesday season 3?

Nothing is confirmed yet, but season 3 will likely have around eight episodes, just like the first two seasons.

Who could be in the cast of Wednesday season 3?

We expect these cast members to return:

  • Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams
  • Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair
  • Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin
  • Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay
  • Moosa Mostafa as Eugene
  • Georgie Farmer as Ajax
  • Victor Dorobantu as Thing
  • Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams
  • Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams
  • Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams
  • Evie Templeton as Agnes DeMille
  • Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Ritchie Santiago
  • Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester
  • Billie Piper as Isadora Capri
  • Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump
  • Joonas Suotamo as Lurch
  • Liv Spencer as Varicose
  • TBC as Ophelia Frump

Season 2 part 1 was deadly, with the deaths of Donovan Galpin, Laurel Gates, and Dr. Rachael Fairburn confirmed. It’s safe to say they won’t be coming back. Co-creator Alfred Gough also confirmed that Xavier Thorpe won’t be returning.

Part 2 was just as brutal. Principal Barry Dort died, so Nevermore will need a new principal. Francoise Galpin also met her end, and Isaac Night, also known as Slurp, was killed too, though Thing stayed loyal to the Addams Family. Professor Orloff was killed by Slurp, which was a shocking moment.

Season 3 might bring some new faces. The finale gave a glimpse of Ophelia Frump. We didn’t see her fully, but it’s likely she will have a bigger role next season.

Right now, it’s hard to say exactly what will happen, but it’s likely that Wednesday will be back at Nevermore solving another mystery. We can also expect to see more members of the Addams Family join the story.
