Fans of Apple TV+’s acclaimed workplace thriller “Severance” can make space on their calendars for January 17, 2025, as the show returns for its highly anticipated second season. Apple TV+ recently announced the premiere date for the new season, along with a sneak peek that promises more mysteries and drama for the global phenomenon.
Created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller, “Severance” quickly became a breakout success after its debut. The series is a dark, thought-provoking exploration of a dystopian workplace where employees at Lumon Industries undergo a surgical procedure to sever their personal memories from their work life. The chilling consequences of this corporate experiment form the core of the show’s gripping narrative.
In season one, Mark Scout (played by Adam Scott) finds himself at the heart of a mysterious unraveling at Lumon Industries. As his team grapples with the ethical implications of the severance procedure, Mark starts questioning the true purpose of their work. Season two is set to dive even deeper into the complications of severance, with Mark and his colleagues confronting the increasingly dangerous realities of dividing their lives in such an extreme manner.
Severance Season 2’s Cast
The second season reunites the beloved cast, including Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. New series regular Sarah Bock also joins the ensemble.
Ben Stiller returns as executive producer and director, leading a team of directors including Uta Briesewitz, Sam Donovan, and Jessica Lee Gagné. Alongside Dan Erickson, the writing and production team features industry heavyweights such as John Lesher, Jackie Cohn, Beau Willimon, and Mark Friedman. Both Scott and Arquette continue to serve as executive producers.
