Netflix is bringing a brand-new kind of show this July called Building the Band. It’s something we’ve never seen before. In this music show, 50 singers are invited to join a fun experiment. They are trying to find the perfect people to be in a band with, but there’s a special factor that makes the show different. They won’t be able to see each other at first.

Each singer has to listen to others sing while sitting in a private booth. That means they only hear the voice and don’t know what the person looks like. After these blind auditions, they’ll decide who they want to team up with based on how they feel and connect through the music.

By the end, there will be six different bands. But only one of those bands will win. Also, not everyone will get picked, each band can only have up to five people.

Netflix says the show will make you wonder: “Is good chemistry enough to create a winning band?” And when the bandmates finally get to meet face-to-face, how will things like their looks, dance moves, and personal style affect everything?

You can expect a lot of fun, surprises, emotions, and amazing music performances. Building the Band is not just about singing, it’s about finding connection, teamwork, and maybe even friendship through music.

When is Building the Band releasing?

Netflix’s new music reality show Building the Band will start streaming on July 9, when the first four episodes (episodes 1 to 4) will be released together.

Building the band judges and host info

AJ McLean, best known as a member of the Backstreet Boys, will be the host of Building the Band. According to Netflix’s Tudum, AJ will guide and support the singers throughout the competition, helping them through each stage until only one band is left.

The show will also feature Nicole Scherzinger as a main judge, joined by guest judges Kelly Rowland and the late Liam Payne. Liam filmed his scenes before his passing, and his episodes were reviewed and approved by his family.

Ahead of the series launch, many fans have expressed deep emotions online. After Netflix released a teaser, people flooded social media with tributes to Liam Payne, saying they’re unsure how they’ll watch the show without getting emotional.

A fan wrote: “Liam”, alongside several crying emojis and a broken heart. Another replied: “Watching it for Liam.”

Another said: “Don’t know how I’m gonna get through this without crying when I just cried watching the trailer. RIP Teddy Bear. We love and miss you so much.”
